HDFC INFUSED WITH LIQUIDITY! WE JUST SAVED THE WORLD

Yes! We did our bit in saving the world from falling apart! Huh.. helped enhancing liquidity in the banking system.. Eh em.. We got our accounts opened at HDFC bank today, along with pledging Rs.5000 towards fixed deposits. Heh, we'r already saving the world and dressed like James Bond. The names MAD.. HyderaMAD.

RELY ON US: MERU, ANTITHESIS IF THE LONDON TAXI DRIVER

They say the London caby's are the smartest. And today I arrived at Hyderabad for my ILP, and found their antithesis in one of the Meru Cab drivers. However convincing their punchline 'RELY ON US' may try to be, one can't rely on a chap who drives a cab and doesn't know where the Rail Station of the city is. Next I asked him to go to Gachi Bowli, where the ILP training center as well as the accommodation is, he asked me if I know the rout to that place!! Now at this point it is prudent to specify that Gachibowli and Hi tech city are the most frequented routs due to high corporate traffic directed there. Finally, we somehow reached Gachibowli and our man misses the place drives a couple of kilometers and then turns back again. Accommodation is decent, but I feel like a construction worker, with almost a whole new country coming up from scratch all around me. And the ILP accommodation at Gachibowli guy's, its no different. Its actually a half constructed building that's recovering its costs even before getting completely built. Jokes apart, as rickety as it may look from the outside, interiors are decent. Beware of mosquitoes guys you don't wanna be down with Chikungunya during ILP. It's also a bit of a letdown that girls live somewhere far off - Now that explains why so many ILP blogs talk about people staying late at the CMC center, till they'r kicked out including weekends.

JOINING LETTER BLUES? NEXT STEP PORTAL MIGHT HELP

Madness begins before ilp does. A lot of my friends never got the joining letter. Apparently joining letters by their name have reached the college, but are addressed to some other college. Some other joining letters have reached but the recipients are caught unawares, as they never got an intimation through e-mail. As for people like me who live thousands of miles away from college, as per the word that is around, we are supposed to make a round trip to college before making the final odyssey to our ilp center.

Thankfully our kind has some help on the web, or so it seems. nextstep.tcs.com is an excelent portal with all necessary documents available for download. To the best of my knowledge the joining letter comes along with an annexure, the service agreement and the letter of acceptance. If there's any thing else kindly inform.. However as I said the word is out that I need to collect the original joining letter posted to college. In that case I don't see the point of this site. Its also a good portal for all the common doubts regarding 1st day and ilp in general. Guess all you guys who's joining letter might have 'mis-posted' or so you feel.. checking up your status on this site is a good idea. But the catch is you need to know you login and password. And for that you need to get a mail containing these details from TCS. Its quite possible though, that you didn't even recieve this mail. Guess everyone gets to experience their fair share of madness. But it'll all fall in place so just don't take too much preassure, even before it all starts.

Oka.. still a week to go.. Will keep posting regularly ones my ilp starts.
